Submissions

The Pikestaff Press invites submissions of manuscripts of poetry and prose fiction to be considered for book publication, but authors must query first by e-mail or letter (in the latter case, supplying SASE for reply) before sending a manuscript. Unsolicited manuscripts will be sent back without comment if the author supplies sufficient postage for return; otherwise they will be recycled unread. The query should provide full particulars of the manuscript’s length, contents, aims, and intended audience, as well as a brief biographical sketch of the author. Response will be forthcoming within one month.

• Poetry or prose chapbooks–around 20 pages of
   text
• Poetry collections (over 20 pages of text)
• Prose fiction

If a manuscript is accepted for publication, The Pikestaff Press will negotiate a contract with the author that delineates mutual understandings and obligations. Copyright will remain with the author, and will be so noted on the published text. Registration of copyright with the Copyright Office will be the author’s responsibiliity. Pikestaff’s editorial policy encourages authors to participate in designing their books, choosing fonts, creating covers and jackets, and formulating promoton and distribution strategies.
